About Tortoise plastron:
 The drug is sweet and salty in flavour, cold in nature and acts on the liver and kidney channels. Sweet in flavour, moist and cold in nature for clearing heat, and salty for acting on the kidney, the herb can tonify Yin of the liver and kidney, suppress hyperactivity of the liver-yang, clear heat of deficiency type and strengthen muscles and bones. It is indicated for Yin deficiency of the liver and kidney, hectic fever due to consumption, hyperactivity of the liver-yang, osteomalacia due to deficiency of the kidney, bleeding due to blood heat caused by Yin deficiency and other syndromes.
